When you browse our website

In brief: we process your personal data when you browse this page, for several reasons.

Purpose: we process your personal data to (1) provide this page to you (“traffic data” such as your IP address), (2) ensure the security of the page, and (3) analyse the behaviour of our website visitors.

Storage: we delete your data as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected. This is generally the case for the data used to provide the website when the respective session has ended.

Legal basis: (a) your consent to display the website, and (2) our legitimate interests to ensure sufficient security and improve the functionality.

Processors: we use processors to process data on our behalf, for example, to host the website

Other recipients: we provide data to (1) Google as we use Google Analytics, (2)

Third country transfers: your data is transferred to the USA as we use several of Google’s services, based on an adequacy decision (Google is certified under the Data Privacy Framework).

Cookies: We store the following cookies on your device:

  • Google Analytics, Google Audiences, Google Double Click (measures anonymized how users behave on our website, from which pages they come to us and where they go from our site - this way we and many other website operators can improve our website and also place advertisements - however, we do not do the latter ourselves here!).

Under no circumstances will the data collected by us be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.

Of course, you can also view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are regularly set to accept cookies. In general, you can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please use the help functions of your Internet browser to find out how you can change these settings. Please note that individual functions of our website may not work if you have deactivated the use of cookies.

When you sign up for our newsletter

In brief: In addition to the processing described under (1), we use your email to send you the requested newsletter(s) and any additional data you have provided when signing up.

Purpose: Sending you our newsletter and customize elements in newsletters (like country-specific information).

Storage: we delete your data within 6 months of when you unsubscribe from the mailing list.

Legal basis: we process based on your consent.

Processors: we only use processors to provide you with the newsletter, such as Mailchimp. This may change over time.

Other recipients: None.

Third-country transfers: your data is transferred to the USA, based on Standard Contractual Clauses. For more information, see the link.

When you buy a ticket on our website

In brief: we process your personal data when you purchase a ticket via our website.

Purpose: to enable you to purchase the ticket.

Storage: we need to store your data related to the transaction for 10 years, to comply with legal obligations.

Legal basis: we process your data (1) because it is necessary for the performance of the contract (sale of the ticket), and (2) to notify you once a year (if you purchased a ticket for a previous edition of the festival) that tickets for the most recent edition of the festival are available for purchase.

Processors: we use pretix to provide the technical infrastructure for the sale of tickets,  and Mailchimp to notify existing customers via email.

Other recipients: we pass on data (1) to the tax office if this is necessary to fulfil legal obligations and (2) to the organizer Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to fulfil contractual obligations.

Third-country transfers: no personal data is transferred outside of the EEA to fulfil this purpose.

When you are photographed at our festival

In brief: we process your personal data when you are photographed at our festival. We only allow our photographers to photograph people in a group context.

Purpose: we process the data to (1) document our festival, and (2) use photographs to market our festival.

Storage: we store the data until a data subject reasonably objects to the processing.

Legal basis: we process your data because we rely on our legitimate interest (documentation of our festival and indirect marketing).

Processors: we use photographers who are bound by our instructions.

Other recipients: none

Third-country transfers: no personal data is transferred outside of the EEA to fulfil this purpose.

Your rights

With regards to all processing activities, you have the following rights:

  • Right of rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)

  • Right of erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)

  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)

Please contact hello@detectclassicalfestival.de if you wish to exercise any of these rights. To complain to a supervisory authority, you need to contact the supervisory authority of your country/state.

Lastly, you have the right to withdraw consent (where given) (Art. 7 (3) GDPR) and the right to complain with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). To withdraw your consent for sending the newsletter, please unsubscribe via the email.
